SAN FRANCISCO, CA

Applications are now open for The 2026 Redford Center Grants Open Call, supporting environmental filmmakers creating feature-length documentaries and docuseries that explore urgent, intersectional environmental stories.

Selected filmmakers will receive $40,000 in grant funding, along with yearlong support that includes mentorship, access to industry and environmental experts, a cohort-based fellowship experience, and an in-person convening focused on creative and professional development. The Redford Center welcomes applications for projects at any stage of production. To be eligible, projects must have sample footage and must not yet be picture locked.

The application deadline is May 14, 2026.

The Redford Center Grants Program operates on a two-year cycle and provides funding, access to a network of industry and environmental experts, a professional development retreat, and the opportunity to apply for second-year funds. Over the past decade, The Redford Center has supported 60 film projects and awarded more than $2 million to environmental films. This year marks a significant step forward, with increased grants — $40,000 awarded to 10 projects — and expanded support for each selected team.

Films supported by The Redford Center have gone on to premiere at leading festivals, receive major industry awards, and achieve global distribution across platforms including Netflix, Hulu, HBO, PBS, and National Geographic.
