The Diving Frogs

Perla, Sarai and Ruben remember and rethink the moment when their community in Guatemala was flooded by two hurricanes, until it became a beautiful lagoon.

Perla (13), Sarai (17) and Ruben (21) remember and rethink the moment when their community was flooded by two hurricanes, until it became a beautiful lagoon. While this is happening, villains incarnate appear in the media, government and extractive industries who take advantage of the community’s misfortune. For this reason, these children want to tell the story from their own perspective, using the power of their imagination through circus, theater and rap to transform their community into a heroine who can save herself from these villains with her own strength. The Diving Frogs is a true story that happened in the year 2020 with the ETA and IOTA hurricanes that affected from Florida  to Guatemala. This film is narrated in an imaginary and surreal way to question the effects of climate change and hurricanes in the world.
