One Point Five

One Point Five is a cinema verité geopolitical thriller that follows key climate diplomats and activists from around the globe as they fight to save the planet and deliver climate and environmental justice.

Beginning with the lead up to COP26 and filming through COP28, ONE POINT FIVE pulls back the curtain on crucial acts of climate diplomacy in an unprecedented fashion. In locales as far-flung as Palau, the DRC, and India, our film takes viewers on an emotionally charged tour of climate challenges and the work being done to restore ways of life that have been harmed and to transform systems for a sustainable future.

At COP26, in the midst of a global pandemic, teams of negotiators from every country attempted to get international climate negotiations back on track. Hosted in Egypt and under the shadow of the Russia-Ukraine war, COP27 saw 30 years of effort realized by the successful establishment of the Loss and Damage fund, but no real movement or compromise to end the grip of fossil fuels over global energy production and consumption. When COP28 began, it faced massive expectations, with many scientists saying this was humanity’s last chance to send decisive signals the fossil fuel era was coming to a close.

At each COP, all 190+ countries of the world need to agree on exactly the same agreement. ONE POINT FIVE brings viewers close to the work of diplomats striving to reach consensus. Their task is nearly impossible and the stakes couldn’t be higher.
