The Poet and The Plant

“The Poet and the Plant” is a short film about a poet who loved his new houseplant so much he killed it. It is a meditation on love, loneliness, and listening. And an allegory for modern man’s relationship with nature, and how it can heal. With a style that blends foreign and American cinema, French-American and Israeli-American filmmakers Rob Summerlin and Tom Basis respond to our current environmental plight with a light-hearted film. A positive film that will inspire positive action. They believe that the environment must be addressed in narrative films. And that story can help heal our relationship with the earth.
