IWhere we work is central to our activist efforts. We are inspired by nature and wilderness, motivated by urban communities. Operating in both environments offers us perspective as well as solutions from the synergies of creativity, industry, and the natural world.

Redford Center, Berkeley

Headquarters: David Brower Center, 2150 Allston Way, Suite 420, Berkeley, CA 94704

Why Berkeley?  The Redford family has long been a part of the Bay Area community and is committed to doing its part to cultivate progress, civilize politics and engage the local community in creating positive change.

Berkeley is a city that has been championing social justice and green practices since before the 1960s. It is a university town with a multi-cultural, spirited population and an independent minded culture; a fitting location given our goals. The office is in the David Brower Center, a LEED Platinum building and one of the Bay Area's most advanced green buildings, anticipating a LEED Platinum rating, that is home to a vibrant community of individuals and organizations working to better the world. There is a theatre, an art gallery, and conference space in the building, which sits in the heart of the city’s arts district and is one block away from public transportation.

"We can't expect to create the change we seek, if we aren’t living as part of the solution." Robert Redford

Sundance Preserve

Wasatch Mountains, Sundance, Utah

"This place in the mountains is the perfect host for the inspiration of ideas: harsh at times, threatening in its winters of destruction, but tender in attention to the details of every petal of every wildflower resurrected in the spring.  Nature and creativity obey the same laws, to the same end: life."  Robert Redford

The Sundance Preserve is 2,000 acres of wild land situated at the highest point in the Wasatch Mountain range. It is a place for renewal, recreation and for preserving the beauty and spirit of the American West.  It is a community that Robert Redford founded decades ago to nurture creativity, independence, and innovation, set in a context of social responsibility and conservation. It is the wellspring from which all Redford Center programs emerge and very often it is the place in which they unfurl.
